The surrounding mountains provid good pasture-land for sheeps and cattle, and there are many excellent lakes for fishing. Myrkdalen is situated near the Stølsheimen natural reserve area for landscape preservation, witch is perfect for hiking trips with access to DNT official cabins for hikers.
